Development Committee
The Development Committee contributes to Chamber programming by offering event and program sponsorships that give businesses visibility, targeted networking and promotional opportunities. They also develop 12-month packages for companies who prefer to plan their business outreach on an annual basis by sponsoring Chamber events. In addition, they evaluate proposed new lines and businesses to grow the Chamber's non-dues revenue base.
The Development Committee also works with each event committee throughout the year with the Gala, Valor, Golf, Legislative Reception and Business Awards. The Event Chair is responsible for overseeing the event's sponsorships and in particular to encourage outreach by the board. Ways to accomplish this include:
• Implement and provide feedback to staff on the sponsorships plan.
• Take the lead in certain types of outreach efforts such as sending a letter to contacts, or leading a call blitz, that will help build and maintain the Chamber's database and create consistency on outreach efforts to the membership.
• Assist with involvement of board members in sponsorships, such as having board members make telephone calls to potential sponsors.
• Ensure sponsors are acknowledged appropriately.
