Buy Alexandria
Buy Alexandria, Our Dollars Count, is an educational and marketing campaign initiated by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce with our partners, the City of Alexandria, the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, the Alexandria Convention and Visitor's Association and the Alexandria Small Businesses Development Center (hosted by the Chamber). We encourage the Alexandria community to buy in Alexandria in an effort to strengthen the economic vitality of the City.
The City and businesses of Alexandria face a challenging economic environment similar to that impacting the entire country. City residents can help the local economy thrive during these difficult times by buying in Alexandria. Participating in Buy Alexandria, Our Dollars Count is easy: simply shop, dine, entertain, and buy essentials in Alexandria. Your purchases, from big-ticket items to everyday necessities, directly benefit the City's tax base and support our local businesses. Local companies can help as well: we encourage business owners to take advantage of local opportunities to purchase equipment and supplies whenever possible. Consult the Chamber’s Member Directory for ideas.
Buying where we live and work is also good for the environment. We can reduce your carbon footprint by using mass transit, driving shorter distances, and walking to make our purchases in Alexandria. We can show our support of this program by displaying Buy Alexandria, Our Dollars Count program decals. It's a great way to thank your customers for buying local and encourage your employees to do the same!
